hi Mr. Sysop,
trying to get along with the old
message system after ages. am I
doin wrong or is sending
deactivated? Achim
Was this meant to be a private email to the sysop
of the BBS you were
using? This went onto Dove-Net, which is a networked
message board.

Hi Nightfox
sorry, if I got on a
wrong track.
First attempt via telnet on BBS stuff for 20 ys, so guess,
curiosity went
thru with me and I hope, I did not bother anyone, trying to
figure out
messaging in here...
best

Hi my friend,
at least I found the commands in the main message menue and am able to respond to a CERTAIN message, not writing to the whole world, geeezzz ;-)
When I last used Fidonet, BBS and similar, that was in the late 90s Main purpose now was to find out, if old stuff like Telnet still works with all graphical tools now in use. And I wanted to get back a bit to the days, when I started with Linux (on 15 discs, haha), now on GhostBSD (FreeBSD as base). But 30ys seems to be an awful long time and much is forgotten. Add. I m a hobby computerist, but working in IT support, so constantly learning. That brings me to the main point: now knowing a few basic commands to postto and respond on someone: is there a more complete list of commands, how to behave correctly in a board like this, that could help this little austrian lad here to behave less "silly"?
:-)
best regards
Achim
