So sad about their death and the way it (apparently) happened.
The rewatchables podcast decided to have a special episode dedicated to Reiner's works. They picked, of all movies, "The Sure Thing" - a movie
pitched as a teen sex comedy, except with very little sex, interesting characters, a keen eye for picking actors who exemplified the roles they played, and a 17 year old John Cusack who was emancipated during the
filming.
It was his second film after Spinal Tap, and they ranked it one of the
best 4 teen films - behind Risky Business and ahead of Breakfast Club
and Ferris Buehler's day off.
I remember watching that and wanting John Cusack's character's snarky
sense of humor.
